Before training as a Psychologist I had a 20 year career in business with three blue-chip companies– from direct sales to senior management roles in marketing and business development. Then I started my own business and achieved £500,000 turnover in 2 years (with good levels of profitability from outset), before selling up and re-training as a Psychologist. (The business continued to grow and is still running.) I received my initial training in communication and presentation skills from Ashridge Management College in the early 90’s. Since then I have presented, on platforms ranging from small workgroups to business roadshows, international trade shows, the Institute of Directors and national television.
I understand business and business people. I ‘speak the language’. People in positions of responsibility can find it hard to ask for help when they are experiencing difficulties, but trying to carry on ‘working through it’ can make matters worse. It is helpful to have access to someone who has the experience to know what you are facing, can identify and encourage positive change, and is completely confidential. I offer tools and techniques grounded in psychological research to:
